SEIL-Bag Projects Riders’ Anticipated Movements to Improve Road Safety

There’s an unavoidable disparity between the way that vehicles and bicycles operate an communicate on the street, making products like the SEIL-Bag so valuable. This is a knapsack that delivers signals to motorists so that the wearer can pedal his course with a better sense of security.
Made by the Lee Myung Su DesignLab of Seoul, this hi-tech backpack is the winner of a Red Dot Award and an iF Design Award. It integrates an LED display that creates illuminated, pixelated symbols that function as indicators. A compact wireless controller can be used by the cyclist to input turning signals before he changes course. Alternatively, a smartphone app lets you send other images to be exhibited on the SEIL-Bag for fun or decoration.
