There’s an unavoidable disparity between the way that vehicles and bicycles operate an communicate on the street, making products like the SEIL-Bag so valuable. This is a knapsack that delivers signals to motorists so that the wearer can pedal his course with a better sense of security.
Made by the Lee Myung Su DesignLab of Seoul, this hi-tech backpack is the winner of a Red Dot Award and an iF Design Award. It integrates an LED display that creates illuminated, pixelated symbols that function as indicators. A compact wireless controller can be used by the cyclist to input turning signals before he changes course. Alternatively, a smartphone app lets you send other images to be exhibited on the SEIL-Bag for fun or decoration.
